CEAT hosts representatives from Austrade and AusIndustry

As part of our monthly Hub Member Networking Lunch on Wednesday 17 February, CEAT hosted David Barbalet and colleagues from AusIndustry and Matthew Durban and colleagues from Austrade to present to our hub members about the various funding schemes available to SMEs and emerging entrepreneurs.

The session was well attended by CEAT Hub Members, and provided an opportunity for them to learn about opportunities to further grow their businesses through funding, as well as mentorship programs, business roadmap development and relationship building opportunities.

David spoke at length about AusIndustry’s Entrepreneurs’ Programme, and how AusIndustry can help budding entrepreneurs transform their business, and go from where they are to where they want to be.

Matthew outlined Austrade’s approach to internationalising businesses, whether through seeking international investment, helping with exporting, or working with local experts in trade across their 70 offices across the globe.

Within the same lunchtime session, Hub members were introduced to the Hub’s newest members, Nourish Ingredients. The founder James Petrie, talked about his journey from CSIRO researcher to entrepreneur, to R and D leader of the company, which works to make plant-based meat and dairy alternatives even better, by creating tailored, animal-free fats. He also introduced Nourish’s Chief Technical Officer, Anna El Tachy, and their technology lead of synthetic biology, Heinrich Kroukamp.

CEAT welcomes Nourish to the Innovation Hub, and looks forward to many more networking events throughout 2021.
