CEAT businesses share success

The CEAT Hub was a hive of activity this week as CEAT staff and our Hub community gathered on Wednesday to exchange business updates and hear about the ACT Government’s economic development priorities for 2022-2025.

It was the first formal Hub event since August last year when Canberra and surrounding areas went into an extended period of lockdown and working from home. It was great to see everyone in person again and hear about their recent business achievements.

While it’s been quiet in the Hub area over the past nine months, that certainly doesn’t reflect the business activity that’s been going on in that time.

Our Hub businesses – including PPB Technology, Gondwana Genomics, Wildlife Drones, Quantum Brilliance and Membrane Transporter Engineers – shared stories of their recent successes, big and small. From expanding their staff, winning additional funding and investment, to extending their client base interstate and overseas, it’s an exciting time here at the CEAT Hub.

As well as hearing from our Hub members, we were also joined by Sean Kelly from the ACT Government’s Business and Innovation area. Sean discussed the territory’s mission-led approach to their economic development priorities as outlined in the recently released CBR Switched On, and assured of the Government’s continued commitment to supporting Canberra’s innovation ecosystem.

He said another round of the ACT Government’s Priority Investment Program would be rolled out and there would be an opportunity to provide feedback to shape how the program would look in the future.

To learn more about the exciting developments for our Hub community and upcoming funding opportunities from the ACT Government, stay tuned to future editions of CEAT Innovation News.
